Statement of Faith

We affirm the Holy Bible as the God-breathed Word of God (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21), and the only basis for our faith and practice. The Church accepts “The Baptist Faith and Message,” a 1963 affirmation (revised in 2001) of fundamental Christian beliefs, as a general statement of our faith. The following is a synopsis of the major tenets of our Statement of Faith.

Scripture.

We believe the Holy Bible was written by men who were divinely inspired and that it is God’s revelation of Himself to us. From beginning to end, it tells the story of salvation and reveals the truth of who God is and who we are in relation to Him. Because God is its author, Scripture is completely true and trustworthy, without any mixture of error. It serves as the final authority for what we believe and how we live, guiding us into clarity, conviction, and joy.

God.

We believe there is one living and true God. He is personal, present, and perfect in every way—the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of all things. In His holiness and wisdom, He governs His creation with purpose and care. God has made Himself known to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three distinct Persons, yet one in essence and being. As Father, He lovingly oversees His creation and works all things according to the purposes of His grace, inviting us into relationship with Him.

Jesus Christ.

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, sent by the Father for our redemption. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully man. In His life, He perfectly revealed the heart and will of God, living without sin while fully identifying with us. Through His obedience and His death on the cross in our place, He made a way for us to be forgiven and restored. He was raised from the dead with a glorified body, and after appearing to many, He ascended into heaven. Even now, He is at the right hand of the Father, interceding for His people. One day, He will return in power and glory to receive His own, to judge the world, and to reign in righteousness.

Holy Spirit.

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and actively at work in the world today. He was present in the inspiration of Scripture and continues to point us to Jesus Christ. He awakens our hearts by convicting us of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and He brings new life through regeneration. At the moment of salvation, He unites us with the Body of Christ, comes to dwell within us, and seals us as God’s own. His presence is not distant or abstract, but it is the steady assurance that God is with us and is continuing His work in us, shaping us into the likeness of Christ.

Man.

We believe that man is the special creation of God, made in His own image and given a unique place in His design. From the beginning, humanity was created male and female as the crowning act of His creation, marked by dignity, purpose, and the freedom to choose. In that freedom, sin entered the human story, and with it came separation from God. Because of this, every person stands in need of redemption. Still, the worth of every human life remains, not only because we bear God’s image, but because Christ gave His life for us. In His grace, God continues to call people to Himself, giving opportunity for all to repent and be saved. He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. Those who receive Christ are brought into eternal life with Him, while those who reject Him remain separated from Him under His righteous judgment.

Salvation.

We believe salvation is the work of God in redeeming and restoring the whole person. It is not something we achieve, but something we receive by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Through His blood, He has secured eternal redemption for us, and there is no salvation apart from Him. When we receive Christ as Lord and Savior, we are brought into right relationship with God and begin to walk in the purpose for which we were created. This is both a moment and a lifelong transformation, as God continues to shape us by His grace.

Church.

We believe the church is a local gathering of believers who have come together around the gospel of Jesus Christ to worship God, grow in our faith, and walk alongside one another in love and truth. As we follow the teachings of Scripture, we seek to build one another up, use the gifts God has given us, and share the hope of the gospel with the world around us. This is who we are and what we are called to do together.

Baptism & The Lord’s Supper.

We believe baptism is an act of obedience that follows salvation, where a believer publicly identifies with Jesus Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. It is a meaningful step of faith that reflects the new life we have received in Him.

We believe the Lord’s Supper is an act of obedience where we come together to remember the death of Jesus, to declare His victory to powers seen and unseen, and to look ahead with hope to His return. In doing so, we are reminded of His sacrifice, His presence, and His promise.

The Lord’s Day.

We believe the first day of the week is the Lord’s Day—a sacred time set apart for God’s people to gather in worship. Rooted in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, this day calls us to come together with joy, to lift our hearts to God, and to be renewed in His presence.

As we gather in unity, we are reminded of what matters most. We celebrate His victory, sit under His Word, and are strengthened together as one body. It is the day the family of God comes home.

Last Things.

We believe that God, in His perfect timing, will bring all things to their rightful completion. Jesus Christ will return in glory, the dead will be raised, and every person will stand before Him. For those who have received Christ, this is not a moment of fear, but of fulfillment. We will dwell with Him in a renewed creation marked by peace, righteousness, and glory, where all things are made right. For those who have rejected Him, there remains a just and eternal separation. In all of this, we trust that God is both perfectly just and abundantly good, and that His final work will reflect the fullness of His character.
